Privacy Policy

1. Data controller

The controller is LocalTorneo, domiciled in Caracas, Venezuela. For any matter relating to personal data write to [email protected].

The organizer of each tournament is in turn responsible for the data that they themselves upload or request from their players and for the use they make of it outside the Platform.

2. Data we process

• Account: name, email, password (stored encrypted, never in plain text), country, language, profiles (organizer, club, referee), alias, biography, city and social networks that the User chooses to display. If they sign in with Google: name, email and photo.
• Players: first and last name, nickname, number, position, sex, category, identity document, phone number, date of birth, optional verification photo (selfie) in formal tournaments and, if a minor, the name of their representative.
• Teams and captains: team name, captain, contact phone number, neighborhood.
• Sports record: results, match events, statistics, sports sanctions, awards and rankings.
• Payments between users (finance module): amounts, items, status and the screenshot of the receipt that the team uploads.
• User Content: news, photos, videos, logos, sponsors, comments and reviews.
• Technical data: IP address, browser, sessions, security and audit logs, notification subscriptions and records of acceptance of these documents.
• Identity validation: the query to the ID card (cédula) validator and an encrypted fingerprint of the document queried (not the document itself).

3. Where we obtain the data

• From the User themselves.
• From third parties who register the User with their authorization: the organizer, the club or the captain of their team.
• From third-party identity validation services, only to pre-fill the form when a document number is entered.
• From Google, if the User chooses to sign in with their Google account.

4. What we use the data for

• Providing the service: creating accounts, tournaments, rosters, calendars, match sheets, standings and statistics.
• Identifying each player only once and reusing their record in other tournaments, and preventing impersonation and duplicate players.
• Publishing the sports record and promoting sport (see what is public in section 6).
• Sending notices about the User’s activity (notifications, match messages, registrations or payments).
• Security, prevention of fraud and abuse, and defense against claims.
• Complying with legal obligations and requests from authorities.
• Improving the Platform with aggregate statistics that do not identify anyone.

We do not sell or rent personal data, nor do we use it for third-party advertising.

5. Legal basis

We process data on the basis of: the consent of the data subject (or of their representative), given by accepting these documents; performance of the agreement for use of the Platform; the legitimate interest in preserving the historical record of the competitions, in security and in the defense of rights; and compliance with legal obligations. The data protection and habeas data rights recognized by the Constitution of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela are respected and, for users in other countries, those recognized by their data protection legislation to the extent applicable.

6. What is public and what is not

PUBLIC (visible to anyone): first and last name, nickname, profile or roster photo, number, position, category, team, sports record, awards and rankings; and, for organizers, clubs and referees, their public name, city, biography, social networks, public contact details that they write, reputation and reviews.

NEVER PUBLIC: identity document, phone number, exact date of birth, email, verification photo (selfie), payment receipts and technical data.

RESTRICTED ACCESS: a tournament organizer sees the document, the phone number (partially masked if the player is already verified) and the verification photo of the players in THEIR tournament, only to validate the roster. Scorers see the masked document. Whoever holds a team’s payments link sees that team’s payment status. The authorized staff of LocalTorneo access it only when necessary for support, security or legal compliance, and this is logged.

7. Minors

Accounts are only for persons over 18 years of age. A minor may appear as a player only with the authorization of their legal representative, whose name is recorded. The representative may at any time ask [email protected] to remove the photo or correct the minor’s data. If we detect data of a minor without authorization, we will remove it.

8. With whom we share data

• With the organizer of the tournament in which the player takes part, on the terms of section 6.
• With providers that render services to us and only for that purpose: hosting and servers, the ID card (cédula) validation service, Google (sign-in), browser notification services and, in the future, messaging services.
• With video platforms (YouTube, Vimeo or others) when a user embeds a video or a stream: those platforms may receive technical data from whoever watches it, according to their own policies.
• With judicial or administrative authorities, when required by law or by a valid order, or to defend the rights of LocalTorneo or of third parties.
• With a successor, if the service is transferred, who shall be bound by this Policy.

9. International transfers

The Platform has users in several countries, and some providers may be located outside the User’s country. By accepting this Policy, the User consents to those transfers, which are carried out with reasonable security measures.

10. How long we keep the data

• Account: while it is active; when deleted it is anonymized immediately.
• Players with incomplete data: automatically deleted a few days after the tournament ends.
• Player’s complete identity record: kept to be reused in other tournaments until the data subject requests its erasure.
• Sports record: indefinitely, as a historical record (Terms, clause 7).
• Acceptance, audit and security records: for the time necessary to handle claims and for as long as the law requires.
• User Content: while it is published, or until its author or LocalTorneo removes it.

11. Security

We apply reasonable technical and organizational measures: encrypted connection (HTTPS), passwords stored with one-way hashing algorithms, database access only through controlled procedures, least privilege, sensitive files (selfies and receipts) kept private and served only to those with permission, audit logs and limits against abuse. No system is infallible; if an incident affecting your data occurs, we will notify you as required by law.

12. Your rights

You may request access to your data, its rectification or update, its erasure, object to a processing, request a portable copy and withdraw your consent, by writing to [email protected] from your account email or by proving your identity. We will respond within fifteen (15) business days.

Please note that withdrawing consent or requesting erasure does not affect the sports record already generated (Terms, clause 7) or data that we must keep by law. You can also delete your account directly from your dashboard.

13. Cookies

We use only cookies necessary for the Platform to work: signed-in session (tn_session), language (tn_lang), preferred country on the live portal (tn_country) security of the Google sign-in (tn_oauth) and a device identifier used to limit document lookups without signing in (tn_dev). We do not use advertising cookies or third-party analytics cookies. Videos or streams embedded by users may install cookies from their own providers.

14. Notifications and messages

Browser notifications are only activated if you authorize them, and you can turn them off whenever you want. Phone numbers are stored in international format so that we can send you messages related to your activity (for example, via WhatsApp or Telegram), in accordance with clause 24 of the Terms.

15. Changes to this Policy

If we change this Policy we will publish the new version with its date and, if the change is significant, we will ask you to accept it again.
